Our fantastic Junior team have made it into the Galway Championship Junior C 12 A Side Final.
For the first time this year Westport Camogie Club entered a Junior team into the Galway Championship.
To reach a final in our first year competing in adult competition is a remarkable achievement and so well deserved by a super group of girls.
They will meet Carnmore in the final.
Path to the final
30/7/20 – vs Salthill / Knocknacarra The team came agonisingly close to pulling off an upset on their first outing in the Galway Championship. The final score was Westport 2:9 to Salthill/Knocknacarra 3:7
7/8/20 – vs Mountbellew/Moylough The first win of the journey for Westport. A powerful performance by our girls led to a 5:9 to 2:2 victory.
25/8/20 – vs Castlebar This was a local derby with Castlebar which led to a good win for our girls. Full time score was Westport 3:9 to Castlebar 3:3.
29/8/20 – vs Ballinasloe Hot on the heels of the previous match our ladies heading off to Ballinasloe to continue their championship adventure. This one proved a battle to the end, after extra time our ladies emerged winners on a scoreline of Westport 3:16 to Ballinasloe 4:9.
13/9/20 – vs Killimor A semi-final against Killimor was next on the agenda. The girls again played with skill and confidence and grabbed themselves a place in the final! Final score Westport 3:9 to Killimor 3:3
