Expressions of Interest for Adult Men’s Junior ‘A’ & Junior ‘C’ Football Management

05th January 2022

Westport GAA is currently inviting expressions of interest for the following management roles of our adult men’s reserve football teams for 2022:

  • Junior ‘A’ Football Manager for 2022
  • Junior ‘C’ Football Manager for 2022

Junior A

The Junior ‘A’ Team is the club’s 2nd adult team. This team which is a vital part of player development within the club competes in the following competitions:

  • Division 4 of the Mayo Senior League
  • New Junior A County Championship (Competition for second teams)

In 2021 the team finished 2nd in the competitive division 4B of the league and lost out in the semi-final of the New Junior A Championship. As this is an important feeder team for our senior panel the manager will be expected to work closely with Senior team management. This is a great opportunity to work with talented and committed players and there is great potential for progression in all competitions as previous results have demonstrated.

Junior C

The Junior ‘C’ team is our 3rd adult team in the club. Now in its 5th year since inception the team competes in the following competitions:

  • Division 6 of the Mayo Senior League
  • Junior ‘C’ County Championship
  • West Mayo Junior B Championship

The manager will be working with a mixture of young players who are transitioning to adult football as well as more experienced players who have a desire to play competitive football for the club. The team narrowly missed out on promotion from division 6 in 2021 and was defeated in the semi-final of the 2021 Junior C Championship. The manager will be expected to work closely with Junior A and Under 19 management teams. This is a great opportunity to work with an ambitious and committed group of players and while the focus is on participation and player development this is a competitive and ambitious team and there is huge potential for progression and success.
